Object info

The Horsehead nebula consists of a dark globule of dust and gas, which blocks the light from IC434, which is the bright part of the nebula.
B33 is part of an enormous cloud of gas and dust which lies 1600 light-years away in the constellation Orion.

The small blueish nebula at left and below the Horsehead is NGC2023.

Processing

DSLRFocus was used for focussing. All separate frames were calibrated, aligned and stacked in ImagesPlus 2.8. "Dynamic Background Extraction" (DBE) was done in PixInsight. Photoshop CS2 was used for further processing - curves adjustment, levels adjustment, etc. The image was calibrated using 30 darks, 30 flats and 30 bias frames.
Above image is a "Pseudo" LRGB image. An artificial "L" component was added to the RGB image.
