Object info

IC443 is believed to be the remains of a supernova. It is also known as the Jellyfish Nebula due to it's distinctive shape.
This nebula is located in the constellation Gemini and lies at about 5000 light-years from Earth.

Processing

CCDOPS was used for focussing. Image Acquisition was done using CCDSOft.
All separate frames were calibrated, aligned and stacked in ImagesPlus 2.8.
Photoshop CS4 was used for further processing - curves adjustment, levels adjustment, etc. The image was calibrated using 10 min/max excluded darks, 15 (dark-subtracted) average combined flats and 12 average combined bias frames. Noel Carboni's toolset was used as well (Local Contrast Enhancement)

Comments

Focus was way off - wind gusts gave the autoguider a hard time.
