Object info

M13, also known as the 'Great Hercules globular cluster', is one of the most prominent and best known globular clusters of the Northern sky. With an apparent magnitude of 5.8, it is just visible with the naked eye under good conditions. Its diameter is about 145 light-years, and it is composed of several hundred thousand stars. M13 is 25,100 light-years away from Earth.
