Object info

The globular cluster M15 can be found in the constellation Pegasus.
Discovered in 1746, the distance to this cluster is about 33.600 light years, the diameter is approximately 100 light years.

A small planetary nebula called Pease 1 (discovered in 1928) is located within the cluster near the core. (not visible in this image though).


Processing

DSLRFocus for focusing. Calibration, aligning and stacking in IP 2.8. Photoshop CS2 was used for final processing.
Light frames were calibrated using 10 darks and 10 flats (flats were also dark subtracted)


Comments

Focus is a little bit on the soft side. No sharpening was used in this image.
