NGC2174 is an emission nebula in Orion (near the border with the constellation Gemini) which surrounds a small cluster of young and bright stars.
The distance to NGC2174 is estimated at about 6.500 light-years.

The small round patch of red nebulosity at upper right is 15th magnitude Sh2-247.
