NGC 1333 is a small reflection nebula which belongs to the Perseus OB2 molecular cloud complex.
The nebula is a young active region of star formation in the constellation Perseus, the stars forming in this region are estimated to be less than 1 million years old.
At a distance of “only” a 1000 light years it is one of the nearest star forming regions.
