NGC 1746 is an asterism or open cluster in the constellation Taurus, it was discovered in 1828.
What you are actually looking at is not a single cluster but an optical grouping of stars belonging to three different clusters which just happen to be in the exact same spot in space when seen from our location. In reality they are at a distance of 420, 2053 and 2477 light years.
The 3 different clusters overlapping each other are NGC 1746, NGC 1750 and NGC 1758.
